Every now and then, you need to clear your hard drive. Through normal everyday use, the hard drive becomes cluttered, sometimes even hard to navigate. You may even come across the error message that there is not enough memory or space to perform a certain function. This normally happens at less than 1GB of room on the hard drive. Luckily, there is one thing you can do to clear your hard drive.
When using Internet Explorer, and some of the other programs and software on your computer, the system starts making duplicates of everything you are looking at, or are doing. It calls some of these items temporary, and puts them into appropriate folders in the hard drive. The truth is, you do not need all of this stuff. And after a while, it just bogs down the computer, and fills up the hard drive. You need to remove this stuff.
The other non-telling thing this does is maintain a record of everything you have ever looked at or been on the internet. This includes pictures, videos, music, website addresses, cookies, hidden cookies, spyware, and certain softwares, like Office and the Yahoo! toolbar. All of these maintain a record of what you are doing. And even when you delete them like you normally would, it does not erase them completely. So you can imagine how much stuff can accumulate over the years.
There is software out there known as Internet Eraser software. This will run a scan on your computer, find all of the stuff you do not need, and get rid of it. When I personally ran it the first time, it removed 4.6GB of stuff. And I just replaced my hard drive 4 months ago. I can only imagine what yours might look like.
So, if you are looking to clear your hard drive of some clutter, and even get your privacy back, then you should use an Internet Eraser program. It not only keeps you private, but will also speed up the computer, and free up some more room.
