How Do I Remove My Internet Explorer History?

If you are looking how to erase your internet history, here is way to do it if you are running Internet Explorer. While this will not get everything, it may get some of the stuff you need to get off of your computer. Just follow the steps outlined below.

Go To “Start”
Click on “Programs”
Click on “Accessories”
Scroll to the bottom of the window and click on “Windows Explorer”
Find My computer, click on it. This should show all of the drives on the computer
Find your “C” drive, click on it
Click on “Document and Settings”
Click on your user name. You may only have 1, and it probably says all users, click on that one.
Not all of the folders will open. You have hidden folders you need to unhide.
Click on “Tools” at the top of the screen
Click on “Folder Options”
Click on the “View” tab
In the window, find the folder that says “Hidden Files and Folders”
Click the radio button next to “Show hidden files and folders”
Click apply. You should see more folders and files appear in the screen behind this pop up window.
Click OK
Click on the folder “Local Settings”
Click on the folder “Temporary Internet Files”
Find the files you need to erase.
All of these files in here, from pictures, to documents, to videos, and even cookies, all tell a story of everything you have ever looked at on your computer. If anyone needed to see what you have been doing, or where you have been going, they could easily come here. Think about your work computer. What if the IT guy shows up for some software updates, and decided to take a look around while he is there. It is within his legal right to do so, and you can do nothing about it. I would recommend doing something about your internet history, and getting rid of it for good.
